Organic viticulture takes a lot of skills, experience
and effort.
In order to get a working community in our vineyards
we have to take proper care of the soil on the basis of a versatile
ecosystem.
Flowers attract useful animals who reduce parasites in a natural way.
Flowers store water, minerals and control the climate. Wild herbs and
grass are used to bind nitrogen and supply food for insects and other
small species. We only use organic fertilizers such as compost, straw
and ground soil over bed rock as these increase the activity of microorganisms
and guarantee natural growth in plants. Remains of the wine-making process
are taken back to the vines and thus close the natural cycle.
As organic winemakers our primary concern is the control
of biological processes in the vineyards, part of which is carefully
directed pest control at an early stage.
We do not use chemicals thus helping nature to find back to and
keep its natural balance.
